The beginning of the new year is a time to ponder trends and predict what will happen in the coming year. Here are my top 3 predictions for 2024.
Block Themes
1) By the end of 2024 there will be more than 1 million websites using 3rd party block themes (not a core block theme). Some will see this as a win for block themes and others will see it as a sign that they are still taking a long time to catch on. For reference, in November 2023 there were 276k+ sites using 3rd party block themes.
Spectra Blocks
2) Spectra Blocks will be the first block collection to get to 1 million active installs. This will be the fueled by Brainstorm Force’s AI site creation tools. For reference, Spectra Blocks currently has 600k+ active installs.
Elementor Core
3) Elementor Core will be installed on 25% or more of all WP sites. People will realize that this is the “page builder” that Matt Mullenweg is referring to. For reference, Elementor Core is currently installed on more than 22% of all WordPress sites.
